- FY21 HOFU FURNACE STACK STABILIZATION The National Park Service, Department of Interior, will be soliciting proposals from construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. This is a PRESOLICITATION notice only and does not constitute a solicitation; accordingly, no response is due at this time. Specific instructions for submitting proposals will be contained in the solicitation documents to be issued on or after May 28, 2021, on Beta Sam (beta.sam.gov). Search by referencing the solicitation number 140P4221R0015. Responses will be due approximately 30 days following issuance of the anticipate solicitation. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be issued and telephone requests or fax request for this solicitation will not be accepted. Project Description: Furnace Stack Stabilization. The work includes but is not limited to, all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, bonds, insurance and permits to successfully complete masonry stabilization to the furnace structure, including but not limited to masonry repointing and resetting; cleaning of masonry; installation of a new repair mortar wash surface; new stone copings at the brick parapets; new flat roof behind the parapet; clay tile and metal flashing repairs at the cast house roof. All work performed shall be within compliance of the Contract Specifications and Drawings. Project Location: Furnace Structure, Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, 2 Mark Bird Lane, Elverson, PA. The Government intends to award a single firm-fixed price contract that meet this requirement. This contract will be awarded using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable Source Selection Process in accordance with FAR Part 15 � Contracting by Negotiation. The solicitation, including all bid documents, will be posted to the https://beta.sam.govwebsite. Set-Aside: This is a competitive service-disabled veteran owned small business set-aside acquisition; only service-disabled veteran owned small businesses will qualify for award. At the time of solicitation all responsible business concerns may submit proposal, which if submitted in a timely manner, will be considered. All vendors should pre-register to save time, by logging onto the System for Award Management (SAM) Internet site athttp://www.sam.gov. The NAICS code for this proposal is: 238140-Masonry Contractors with a small business size standard of $16.5 million. Magnitude: In accordance with FAR 36.204, the project magnitude is estimated to be between $250,000 and $500,000 and is subject to the Davis-Bacon Act. Period of Performance: 120 calendar days from notice to proceed. A Bid Guarantee will be required with the Solicitation. Payment and Performance Bonds will be required within 10 days of award. Site Visit: It is anticipated that a site visit will be scheduled sometime during the solicitation. Specific information regarding this meeting will be included in the solicitation.
