Description
The Office of Operation Support, Laboratory Scientific Services Directorate San Juan Laboratory (SJ LAB) needs a Thin Sectioning Instrument to be able to prepare stone samples for mineralogy, microstructure, and composition analysis. CBP is looking for any equipment that meets or exceeds the general characteristics below. However, if your equipment meets the general purpose of a thin sectioning instrument but does not meet or exceed the characteristics below, please submit a market research quote so that CBP may review its options.� Weight: < 250lbs Dimensions: 34 * 30 * 20 in or less Cutting wheel speed: 800 rpms or more Grinding capability: At least three samples to be processed simultaneously Calibration: Digital micrometer Motor: 2 hp or more Electrical requirements: 3-prong grounded plug, 110V 60Hz Control: - Digital touchscreen display - Push-buttoned membrane switch Safety: - Soundproof enclosure - Safety interlock system - Emergency stop button - Integrated vacuum pump with sensor Common Samples: Stones, cement, ceramic, and ores Accessories Required: - Cutting fixtures - Diamond cut off wheel 250 mm diameter with metal bond - Grinding fixture - Diamond grinding 175 mm diameter cup wheel Installation: - On-site installation.
