- Description
- Dry Valley Rim Herbicide Treatment Amendment 0001 is issued to answer questions received about the RFQ. The closing date and time for quotes remains unchanged. The due date for quotes is Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 4:00 pm. Email quotes to the Contract Specialist Laura StJohn at lstjohn@blm.gov. Include RFQ number 140L1221Q0040 in all correspondence. Q1. I Would like to see the other types of imazapic herbicide allowed on this project. Right now you only have plateau listed. Can we add the Panoramic 2SL? A1. Panoramic 2SL is approved in our pesticide use proposal and can be added. Q2. Also, I would like to be able to add a surfactant drift control so that the spray will reach the ground. Any of the approved on the list would be great. Grounded is the most common that we have used. My company sprayed near this area a few years back and we used the grounded surfactant. A2. Surfactants on the BLM approved list can be added. Q3. I also notice that the contract requires 6 gallons per acre application rate. The label for plateau says minimum 2 gallon. In our experience applying thousands of acres of this product 4 gallon works well. I ask that they read the label and consider this. The chemical requires rain to work. If rain is not received within several months after application it does not matter what the application rate was. Please lower the rate to 4 gallon this will allow the project to be finished faster. A3. A 6 gallon per ac rate is selected to increase the weight of the mix in order to provide a thorough coverage and assist with ground contact due to the amount of residual thatch. We are aware of the minimum label and aware of potential added cost/flight time due to the tank mix requirement. Q4. I'm thinking this project is designed for aerial application. Is it possible I could get confirmation that it is aerial? A4. The BLM cannot explicitly require the type of equipment used in an application via a contract. However, ground disturbance (in addition to the herbicide) is not authorized for this project. -- end --
