Description

SAFE Boats International (SAFE), Bremerton, Washington, was awarded a�firm-fixed-price modification to previously awarded contract N00024-21-C-2201 for the detail design, construction, outfitting, reactivation, and training for six Mark VI (MK VI) patrol boats (PBs), with an option for two more (option value not included within the award value stated above). Two PBs were awarded under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as SAFE is the only supplier of the MK VI PB. Four PBs were awarded under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(4), as the sole-source procurement was approved via International Agreement. The remaining two PBs have not been approved, as funding is not yet available, however upon funding availability the final two PBs will require an additional justification under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The redacted justification and approval document for PBs 1-2 is attached to this posting. Also included in this posting is the justification and approval document for the use of ""brand name or equal"" for select components of PBs 1-2. These items are intrinsic to the MK VI design specification, and have only one responsible source and no other suppliers or services will satisfy Agency requirements. The approval is made under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
