- Synopsis: Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract The Department of Veteran Affairs NCO 7 intends to award a firm fixed price contract conducted under the authority of the Multiple-Award Schedule Program (41 U.S.C. 152(3) and 40 U.S.C. 501). This a new requirement for Birmingham VA Medical Center. The delivery is expected to be within 6 weeks after the order is received. This acquisition is conducted under the authority of the Multiple-Award Schedule Program (41 U.S.C. 251 and 40 U.S.C. 501). This procurement is for a contract to replace the [VA]end of life Draeger Apollo anesthesia machines now in use at Birmingham VAMC with thirteen (13) Draeger Perseus anesthesia machines. The Perseus is the latest and most technologically advanced anesthesia machine. It is the only anesthesia machine on the market that is rated five (5) stars for general purpose by the Emergency Care Research Institute. (ECRI). This is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit capability packages no later thatn 10;00 A.M. Decambe 7th 2021 to william.prenzler@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however any response to this notice mush show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Determination not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice des not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response to this notice. The Government reserves the right to use the information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted.
