Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 16 - HOUSTON In Support of the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) REQUEST FOR INFORMATION 36C25622Q0257 BACKGROUND: MEDVAMC has a requirement for the following: Prep tables W/Sink Item Description Unit of Measure Quantity PREP TABLE WITH SINKS LOCAL STOCK NUMBER: CUSTOM Each 1 PREP TABLE WITH SINKS LOCAL STOCK NUMBER: CUSTOM Each 1 BOOSTER HEATER, ELECTRIC LOCAL STOCK NUMBER: HATCO S-9 Each 1 DISPOSER- SALVAJOR MODEL LOCAL STOCK NUMBER: 300-CA-15-MSS-LD Each 1 INSTALLATION Each 1 Description: The contractor shall disassemble and dispose of existing equipment to be removed and provide, deliver to the Warehouse Building 136, assemble and install new Prep Tables with Sink (no refurbished equipment) located on the second floor in the Healthcare Service System Kitchen (building 4) at the Alexandria VA Medical Center. Project Scope: To replace current Kitchen Equipment that has long past it s replacement date that is used to wash and sanitize pots & pans commonly used in cooking and food service operations in the Food Service Kitchen area. The prep tables with sinks are designed to wash all pots, pans and utensils commonly used in the cooking operations. The prep tables with sinks are uniquely suited for Food Service Facilities applications. The sink is all Stainless steel which contributes to it being sturdy and for easy clean-up. The sink conforms with the Stringent Safety Requirements in Food Services facilities. DETAILED INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS: The Contractor shall: Kitchen is located on the 2nd floor. The equipment shall be moved into the area using current elevator system and installed using current electrical and plumbing connections. Site visit required. Site visit shall be established within next 10 15 days of closing notice and if needed after contract award date. Site visit shall take place during normal working hours which is defined as Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm excluding weekends and federal holidays. Federal holidays include the following: New Year s Day, Washington s Birthday, Martin Luther King s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any days declared by the Government as holidays. Disconnect, disassemble and dispose of the existing prep tables with sinks as to not interfere with continuous daily operations. Contractor to prepare the site for the new prep table with sinks. Install, labor and materials as needed to install prep tables with sinks at the VAMC Alexandria to include: Labor and materials for the instillation of all pieces of equipment, to include: Assembly of prep tables with sinks and disposer. Connection to existing utilities including electric, water, drain, within 3 -5 start up, make ready for final use, remove debris. Note: Contractor shall coordinate with Engineering and service line POC for disassembly, disposal and instillation. Installation of the new equipment shall be placed in the same location as the equipment being replaced. Contractor/ installers shall remove packing material /debris. Contractor shall deliver and install all equipment within 12 weeks of effective contract award date. ALL INTERESTED VENDORS SHALL COORDINATE WALK THROUGH IN ORDER TO ACCURATELY MEASURE AREA FOR CUSTOM PLACEMENT. ALL WALK THROUGH SHALL BE DONE AFTER NOTICE CLOSURE. IF YOU CAN PROVIDE RESPOND TO NOTICE AND SCHEDULE SHALL BE MADE AFTER NOTICE CLOSURE. REQUESTED RESPONSES: The intent of this Request for Information is to establish sources to define the procurement strategy (e.g set-aside, sole source, unrestricted) for a solicitation that VA intends to post soon. Interested contractors are requested to respond in accordance with the following: Please respond to this RFI if you can provide the exact brand name products listed in the table in the background section above. In the response please cite your business size status. If you have an existing GSA or VA, Federal Supply Schedule contract, please include the contract details in your response. DISTRIBUTORS: You must provide proof that you are an authorized distributor. VA does not accept grey market items. Please respond to this RFI if you can provide supplies that may be determined EQUIVALENT to the products listed in the table in the background section above. Please provide details on the proposed EQUIVALENT products such as Manufacturer Name, Part Number, and Description. If you have an existing GSA or VA, Federal Supply Schedule contract, please include the contract details in your response. DISTRIBUTORS: You must provide proof that you are an authorized distributor. VA does not accept grey market items. Please note that VA is particularly interested in determining the availability of Small Business Manufacturers. If your company is a small business manufacturer of potentially equivalent items, please respond to this RFI. Vendors are requested to submit estimated market research pricing with their responses. The estimated pricing will be considered when determining the procurement strategy for the future solicitation. (e.g. if CO determines that capable small businesses cannot provide fair and reasonable pricing, then the solicitation will not be set-aside). Please note that if no responses to this notice are received, from either authorized distributors of the cited brand name nor from manufacturers marketing a potentially equivalent brand, then this action will be sole sourced to the manufacturer cited in the Background section above.
