Description

This is a Sole Source synopsis published for informational purposes only. The United States Air Force Test Center/Directorate of Contracting (AFTC/PZIEB), Edwards AFB, CA intends to issue a sole source contract to Aerotronics LLC 210 Juniper Lakes Blvd. #5105 Jupiter, FL 33458 for the JSE F-35 Custom Rudder Assembly. �The contract will be executed by means of other than full and open competition, due to the need to maintain commonality, interoperability and compatibility with the current systems located at Edwards AFB already used by the JSE team. In order to comply with FAR 5.207(c)(15), the reason for lack of competition is as follows: Crew Station contract FA9302-21-C-0021 required vendor to incorporate Rudder Pedals previously purchased under contract FA9302-19-P-5028.� Additional Crew Stations are being purchased, which requires the purchase of rudder pedals that are of the identical to those required in contract FA9302-21-C-0021. These pedals must be exact for commonality and continuity between same platform Crew Stations. Designing new pedals from a new vendor would be costly, and could possibly create differences that can have a large negative effect on pilot muscle memory and tactile feedback, so it is in the best interest of the government to use the pedals already designed and currently in use.
