- Description
- Pursuant to 13.106-1(b), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) intends to solicit from a single source with The World Road Association (WRA) for annual membership. The World Road Association is the only intergovernmental international organization focusing on technology transfer in matters related to road transportation. As such, the WRA is the only source available to FHWA for membership services. The United States (U.S.) is a member of World Road Association (WRA) and is represented by delegates from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and State departments of transportation (DOT) representatives. The WRA is the only intergovernmental international organization focusing on technology transfer in matters related to road transportation. FHWA's Executive Director, is the First Delegate, representing the U.S. to the WRA. The Executive Director is also an elected member of the Executive Committee and of the Strategic Planning Commission. Every four years, the WRA sponsors two types of congresses: The World Road Congress and the Winter Road Congress. Due to the global health emergency created by COVID-19, the next World Winter Service and Road Resilience Congress will be held virtually February 7-11, 2022. Participation will enable the United States to share techniques and experiences in the field of road transportation and to showcase the key contributions, accomplishments, and findings of its representatives at the Associations technical committees. In addition to the contributions of the U.S. representatives, the U.S. participation in the Congress will include speaking engagements for FHWAs top leadership in support of the Congress Sessions. Under the Theme ""Adapting to a Changing World"", the Congress provides the opportunity to highlight USDOT/FHWA initiatives and priorities on issues of safety, climate change, economic growth, equity, and transformation. The Congress includes a state-of-art virtual exhibition, which will provide a perfect space for exhibitors, including the United States and other member countries, to present their achievements, innovative technologies and solutions to an international audience. As it has done in past PIARC congresses, FHWA is sponsoring the United States Pavilion. The intent of this notice is not to request competitive proposals, and any information received from interested parties will only be considered solely for determining whether a competitive procurement should be conducted. However, interested parties may submit a description of their firms capabilitiesfor satisfying this requirement, which demonstrates they possess the ability tosuccessfully perform this effort. The responses must be received by January 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. All questions concerning this matter should be addressed directly to Vanessa Lechon at Vanessa.Lechon@dot.gov NAICS: 813920 PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS PSC: U005 EDUCATION
