Description
This work will remove the existing ER doors leading to the ambulance bay. The existing doors have failed and the cost to repair is over 50% to repair them. These doors have been repaired previously and the cost to repair these doors would exceed 50% of the cost to replace them. These doors were originally installed when the facility was constructed. All of the automatic doors are manufactured by Horton. There are 2 doors, an exterior and interior that lead from the ambulance bay to the Emergency Room (ER). At present these doors require them to be manually opened and closed. These doors should open automatically when a patient is wheeled from the ambulance bay to the ER. This price is fair and reasonable and this JOFOC is based on; Existing automatic doors are Horton and they are the original doors from when the facility was constructed. Having several different door manufactures would require several different service companies to rely on for service. This would increase the future costs for servicing and maintaining the automated doors in the facility. Existing doors are Horton and to replace these with a different manufacture may increase the installation cost. These new doors will correct the alignment of the opening sections without having to modify the wall sections extensively. These doors provide access to the emergency room from the ambulance bay. These doors currently require them to be opened manually. These doors must open automatically to allow unobstructed access/entrance to the emergency room by patients being transported on a gurney. This requires these doors to be replaced/repaired ASAP. At present the existing IDIQ process would push the replacement of these doors back several weeks or months and increase the cost of the doors since the existing IDIQ contractors are not automatic door companies. The existing doors have failed requiring them to be manually opened and closed. This creates an issue for EMT personnel that are delivering patients by ambulance to the emergency room. The vendor has the resources to complete ASAP, the contractor will proceed once they are in receipt of a PO or given verbal approval.
