- Solicitation 36C25222Q0137 _1: Notice of Intent for Sole Source Award in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)-Only one responsible source. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (VISN 12) intends to negotiate with Shockwave Medical Inc., 5403 Betsy Ross Drive, Santa Clara, CA 95054, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart13.106-1(b)- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, to procure an Intravascular Lithotripsy (ILV) Generator and Connector Cable Set. The CO placed a Sources Sought for Market Research under same number and only one vendor responded. The Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center requires this ILV Generator and Connector Cable Set to provide upgraded and unique cardiovascular healthcare to patients. The Intravascular Lithotripsy Catheter incorporates unique energy emitting transducers inside the distal balloon and is used on highly calcified coronary lesions. The Clement J. Zablocki MC is requesting an Intravascular Lithotripsy system that uses only sonic pressure waves to selectively crack any hardened plaque within the vessels. Not only will this system simplify the procedure, but it also optimizes the outcomes by minimizing trauma to the arteries. This Intravascular Lithotripsy system must be FDA approved. Shockwave Medical Incorporated is currently the only contractor that can provide this type of system. Shockwave Medical, Inc. (DUNS: 055514478) is a small business and the Original Equipment Manufacturer of this equipment. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition.
