- Special Notice Special Notice Page 3 of 3 Sources Sought Notice *= Required Field Special Notice Page 1 of 3 This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of Other than Small Businesses and/or Small Businesses, including VIP-Verified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 541715. This sources sought notice is to determine interest and capability of vendors able to fulfill the following requirements please see the following: Scope and Methodology Members of the Research and Development team will travel from Jesse Brown VA Medical Medical Center (VAMC) located in Chicago, IL to the selected vendor s facility to receive animal surgical specialized training. This training is a VA funded project requirement to initiate Jesse Brown VA Medical Center s research investigation. Salient Specifications and Specific Tasks Surgical training workshop on sheep housing, animal care, surgical procedures, and specialized equipment for sheep to include: Animal Laboratory Costs, Estimate from LAC per case, three (3) care required. Contractors shall provide proof of cardiothoracic surgery training on sheep in conjunction with use of carbon nanotube fibers and electrophysiologic measurements. Contractors that are interested shall prove they have the ability to train within 30 days post award. Trainings shall consist of a fully equipped surgical suite with trained surgeons and staff. The facility shall also be an AALAC (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International) accredited site. This is not a Request for Proposal/Quote or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. VOSBs and SDVOSBs must be registered and verified in VIP for set-aside consideration. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 541715. Responses should be submitted by e-mail to Vernise L. Newton at Vernise.newton@va.gov. The information requested must be received no later than 15:00 pm Central Standard Time on 01/28/2022.
