- External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) Field Course Tasks & Responsibilities The tasks will include but are not limited to: Act as an Associate Instructor to provide training (training material and Instructor Guide provided) in the following subjects: Close Interval Survey (CIS) Theory AC Attenuation Theory Alternating Current Voltage Gradient (ACVG) Theory Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) Theory Field Demonstration and student coaching with Indirect Inspection Tools Severity and Priority Tables Plotting Data from Field Testing Determining ECDA Regions Determining Indication Severity and Priority More Restrictive Criteria Discussion Direct Examination Activities The knowledge and ability to perform all blocks of instruction in the event another instructor is unable to perform their instruction duties to include the following: Overview of the ECDA Process Guided Wave Method PHMSA Pipeline Safety Code Requirements Lesson Skills and Qualifications of Each Instructor and Each Back-up Instructor The instructor and backup instructor must meet the following criteria: � � Technical Instructor must have demonstrated experience delivering external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) training; Demonstrated experience conducting inspections and evaluations of pipeline corrosion, integrity management, and external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) programs and their application; Must be able to implement adult education techniques in a professional classroom environment and in a field demonstration environment using applicable external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) survey tools; Experience developing and implementing external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) programs for natural gas and hazardous liquid pipeline operators; Must have previous experience in the application and use of the code of Federal Regulations, CFR 49, Part 192 Subpart O and Part 195 Subpart H and Appendix C as they apply to external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) programs on natural gas and hazardous liquids pipeline systems; Must have previous experience in the application and use of NACE standard SP0502- 2010 as it applies to external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA) programs on natural gas and hazardous liquids pipeline systems. Government Furnished Resources Course Material TQ will provide the following materials for the course conduct: � Training facility Eight (8) LCD projectors Eight (8) large screens Participant Guide for students on PHMSA TQ LMS files (Blackboard) Instructor Guide Air-conditioned classroom space for all lecture presentations Access to a corrosion testing field for ECDA tool demonstrations Course supplies for student use Class size is limited to 24 students maximum. Any materials, other than those provided by PHMSA TQ to the students must be approved by the technical point of contact/Course Manager before delivery to the students. Classroom/Training Equipment for Course Development and Revision TQ will provide classroom/training equipment for course revision/development workshops, if necessary. Location PHMSA Training & Qualifications Center, Oklahoma City, OK Minimum and Maximum Offerings Dates Minimum of two (2) offerings and a maximum of six (6) offerings per Fiscal Year �
