- Description
- This a Brand Name or Equal To requirement. RFQ # 80NSSC22790940Q Delivery Location: NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. SPECIFICATIONS FOR TETRAFLUOROETHANE Quantity of 80,000lbs Virgin (unused) 1,1,1,2 Tetrafluoroethane (R-134a). R-134a shall conform to all requirements of the ARI-700 standard for new refrigerants. The supplier shall provide an ARI-700 Certificate of Analysis for the delivery prior to unloading. The delivery shall be made by tank trucks (approximately 40,000 pounds) to NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. The supplier shall provide all hoses, fittings, pumps, and other equipment to connect to the R-134a storage tank. The vapor and liquid connections on the storage tank are quick disconnect ""E"" series coupling, female dry-disconnect coupler, Hydraulics Inc., Part #CP00110P1G1B. Supplier shall provide the capability to connect the delivery truck to both the liquid and the vapor side of the Langley storage tank in order to provide the pressure balance needed to pump the delivered liquid R-134a into the storage tank. The delivery tank-truck shall be equipped with an auxiliary pump. The Langley liquid storage tank, while primarily containing R-134a, may have a low mixture of air in the vapor layer that can contaminate the delivery truck. This can be overcome by using the auxiliary pump on their tractor/tank-truck to pump the delivery trailer to a near vacuum (thus returning the gas mixture back into the Langley storage tank). The supplier shall provide a weight certificate at the time of delivery, as well as a Material Safety Data Sheet. The facility will be contacted 24 hours before the delivery to prepare to receive the gas. Contact information will be provided. Delivery date shall be on or after Feb 6th , 2022, and subject to change contingent of prevailing conditions at the facility.
