Description
STATEMENT OF REQUIREMENT AIR FORCE LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT CENTER MODULAR FURNITURE SYSTEMS 1.0. REQUESTING AGENCY: Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Maxwell/Gunter Annex, AL 36114. 2.0. SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENT: AFLCMC has a requirement to purchase seven (7) modular furniture systems for building 888. The new modular furniture systems will be allocated as such: one (1) in room 2071, four (4) in room 2086, and two (2) in room 2087. See attached drawing for layout. This requirement includes design, delivery and installation of new modular furniture systems, new communications cabling, electrical power, as well as removal of existing furniture. Contractor shall be able to adapt their furniture layout to match the specifications listed below. 3.0. DESCRIPTION: Each modular furniture system will be a 4-sided integrated acoustical tile system workstation without privacy door consisting of one (1) three-drawer and (1) two-drawer locking filing cabinet, LED task lighting, four (4) power duplex receptacles located in different locations in the lower section, (2) CAT-6 data jacks, hard top work surface on two sides, and an overhead locking storage unit. All three locks for each modular furniture system will be keyed the same. The contractor will provide a professional turn-key solution to the Government. No seating is being requested in this requirement. 3.1. Room 2071: This area consists of approximately 429 square feet and already contains 5 modular furniture systems. The new modular furniture system will be an addition to the existing and must stand on its own. It must be an L-shape configuration measuring 8x5 feet. A sofa will need to be removed before installation of the new furniture. 3.2. Room 2086: This area consists of approximately 340 square feet. The four new furniture systems will all be adjacent and can share walls. They must each measure 6x6 feet. This area contains several executive desks and other various items that will need to be removed before installation of the new furniture. 3.3. Room 2087: This area consists of approximately 234 square feet. The two new furniture systems will be adjacent and can share a wall. They must each measure 6x6 feet. No furniture will need to be removed from this room before installation. 3.4. FINISH SELECTIONS: The contractor shall provide samples, to include but not limited to, fabric, finish, color, texture, and edge/trim selections to the Government for all items. Samples may be submitted electronically; however, the samples must accurately represent fabric, finish, color, texture, and edge/trim detail. 4.0. REMOVAL & INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS 4.1. The contractor must provide all necessary furnishing, materials, equipment, labor, supervision, and management required to complete this project. The contractor�s Project Manager shall be responsible for on-site coordination of all staging and deliveries of their product, to include access to and operation of any equipment needed for unloading and movement of materials or product. 4.2. The contractor is responsible for the removal and disposal of all items in the area. Quantities to be identified before removal. 4.3. The contractor shall remove all existing furniture while making arrangements to return the items to the DLA located at 455 South Kelley Street, Bldg. 1154 Maxwell AFB, AL 36112-6334. 4.4. The contractor is responsible for post installation cleanup, which will include removal of all material, packaging and all other debris left as a result of installation. General clean-up of material, packaging and work areas will be conducted during job progress (at the end of each day as a minimum) to minimize unacceptable appearance of Building 888 to base population. All trash removed from the worksite shall be disposed of in accordance with state laws. Packaging and other recyclable materials shall be recycled where ever possible. 4.5. The contractor shall be responsible for following all safety and security guidelines within the area in which work is being performed, to include securing any contractor owned tools or equipment and any on site storage being utilized. 4.6. The contractor shall be liable for any damage to Government property caused by the contractor or their representatives. Any damages identified by the contractor shall be immediately reported to the Contracting Officer and AFLCMC representative. 4.7. The contractor shall inspect all new furniture to ensure it is free of surface dirt and defects, the installation is complete and the new furniture is ready for use. 4.8. The contractor shall provide all new components, completely assembled, installed and operational. 4.9. The contractor shall maintain a means of egress within all designated work areas to comply with fire codes. 5.0. DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS 5.1. The contractor must ensure the drivers of the delivery vehicles have copies of the Purchase/Delivery Order (contract) for the items being delivered in order to gain access to the installation. In the event the delivery date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or federally recognized holiday, the delivery date shall be the next workday after the Saturday, Sunday, or holiday. 5.2. Shipping Labels must be on all boxes or skids. The contractor will NOT direct ship or drop ship any item to the site via USPS, FedEx, UPS or similar carrier to the building address. The government shall not be responsible for items delivered directly to the building by these shippers. 5.3. Below is the shipping address for the AFLCMC building 888: 200 East Moore Drive, Bldg. 888, Maxwell/Gunter Annex, AL 36114. 5.4. Building 888 does not have a loading dock. There is one (1) passenger size elevator available to remove the existing and delivery the new furniture to the second floor where all work will take place. 5.5. The contractor shall be allowed access to the facility Monday through Friday, starting at 6:30 AM CDT until 4:00 PM CDT. 6.0. PUNCH LIST INSPECTIONS 6.1. The contractor shall maintain a complete list of all items to be corrected (i.e., punch list) that shall include the deficient item and its location, description of the corrective action, order date for replacement items and estimated ship/delivery date for replacements and the dates that corrective action is planned to be complete. 6.2. The contractor shall provide updates to the punch list to the Government Project Manager as work on the items progresses. 7.0. WARRANTY 7.1. The contractor shall provide all Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standard commercial warranties applicable to the products being purchased at no additional cost to the Government. This information shall include written confirmation of the warranty period, phone numbers and contact information/procedures for technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and replacement of faulty equipment. 8.0. BASE REQUIREMENTS 8.1. Electrical: The Contractor shall wire all modular furniture systems to building electrical connections, i.e. base feeds, power poles and accessory items as needed to fit existing conditions. Main electrical panel is located in the hallway outside of the designated rooms less than 100 feet away. This work shall be the responsibility of the contractor awarded the furniture contract. Electrical installations must be completed by a certified electrician. Flexible power cords must not pass through walls, floors, doors, or ceiling. Any penetrations in walls and ceilings must be appropriately fire stopped. 8.2. Communications: The contractor shall install and label two (2) new CAT-6 Terminal Port Connections at each modular furniture location and terminate the new CAT-6 drop cables into the 2nd floor communication room of building 888, room 2064. Room 2064 is less than 100 feet from all designated rooms. After installation of all CAT-6 cables, the contractor shall test, label, and pass IAW applicable and current TIA/EIA standards and provide a copy of the test results to the AFLCMC/HIO NCC Infrastructure Team. All drops are to be machine labeled on the patch panel and the drop locations. Cables to be labeled in consecutive order. (No hand written labels). Leave a 3-foot maintenance loop on each end of wire. 8.3. Under no circumstance is any of the existing communications and electrical infrastructure to be disrupted. Any damage to existing communications or electrical infrastructure is the responsibility of the contractor to replace with the same previously noted standards. 8.4. All equipment installed or supplied must be new; no refurbished, reconditioned, remanufactured, counterfeit or �gray� items will be accepted.
