Description

In accordance with FAR 8.601 the Federal Prison Industries, Inc. (UNICOR) is mandatory source for furniture. The solicitation number for this request for quotations (RFQ) is 70Z02321SFUR00000. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 337211 and the PSC is 7195. This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using the simplified acquisition procedures of FAR Part 13 to procure office furniture in support of the Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS),� Portland, Me. The Government intends to award a sole source contract for the above products and installation services to Unicor Federal Prison Industries, 3301 Leestown Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40511.� The Proposed contract action is for products and services for which the Government intends to solicit only one source, Unicor, in order to match existing furniture previously provided by them. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements.� A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order/contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
