- Under Statutory Authority Public Law 109 Sec. 502, including the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and VAAR 819.7007, the Government anticipates entering into sole-source procurement negotiations with Tropical Environmental, Inc. a certified verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to perform Asbestos Removal Project Management and Air Sampling Services for the Captain James A Lovell, Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL. The following is a brief description of service required: Asbestos Abatement Project Oversight and Air Monitoring: This project engages a contractor to provide asbestos abatement project oversight during planned abatement activities. Provide Asbestos Project Manager/Air Sampling Professional (APM/ASP) to perform project oversight, and asbestos air monitoring and clearance sampling for planned abatement activities. All APM/ASP services shall be conducted in accordance with all applicable and current Federal and State of Illinois, Department of Public Health regulations for asbestos abatement. Vendor must be prepared to provide this service upon an award of a contract. This acquisition is conducted under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901 Simplified acquisition procedures as implemented in FAR 13.501, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This will be a firm fixed price contract. The NAICS Code is 541620 Environmental Consulting Services. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its services, as well as references from other customers who are using this service to the Contract Specialist by 12:00PM (CST) 03/23/2022. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements in accordance with all applicable and current Federal and State of Illinois, Department of Public Health regulations for asbestos abatement, including the ability to provide this service upon award of a contract. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Contracting will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Tropical Environmental Inc.
