Description
2) Question: In the door schedule, call outs # 1 & #2 mention interior sensors to be used. Can the sensor be clarified? Wave sensors, motion sensors...etc? Answer: Motion Sensors 3) Question: Box 13 of SF1442 form a. Item 13B SF1442, An offer guarantee, is not required box is checked. Page 5 of solicitation, Important Bidder information, Bid Submission item 4 states, An original completed and signed SF24 bid bond is required. Please confirm if a bid bond is required. b. Item 13 D SF1442, offers providing less than 120 calendar days for Government acceptance after the date offers are due will not be considered and will be rejected. With 120 calendar days, the award would happen on 7/30/22. Given the volatility of the of construction materials, would the Government consider adding FAR Clause 52-216.4 Economic Price Adjustment Labor and Material? If not, would the Government consider reducing the number of calendar days for Government acceptance to 5 or 10 calendar days or tell all contractor s to assume a material escalation allowance of $XX,XXXX.XX in their bid. Answer: a. Yes, a bid bond is required. b. SF1442 Box 13 D was 120 calendar days, and now will be 60 calendar days 4) Question: Box 10 of the SF1442 states that there will be drywall/plaster repair. There is no specification for drywall/paster repair. Please provide the following specification sections, Gypsum wall board, painting, schedule for finishes. What level finish is the gypsum wall board? Is orange peel texture required? What is the extent of the gypsum wall board repair? This is impossible to quantify without specific information. Answer: Repair wall around opening to match existing. 5) Question: Section 01 45 00 talks about special tests and inspections, will there be special tests and inspections required for aluminum framed entrances and storefronts? For example, water infiltration testing? Answer: Yes 6) Question: Please provide the Basis of Design or section 09 06 00. Please advise. Answer: Replace to match existing. 7) Question: Are there any more specifications on the roll up grille going in building 54? Answer: Insulated rolling steel door Ø Materials/Specs 1. Curtain Slat Material: No. 6F,(Listed Exterior/Interior) 2. Galvanized Steel/Galvanized Steel (Paint Finish Grey powder coat): Manufacturer recommended gauge based on performance requirements. Minimum 24/24 gauge, Grade 40, ASTM A 653 galvanized steel zinc coating. 3. Insulation: 7/8 inch (22 mm) foamed-in-place, closed cell urethane. 4. Total Slat Thickness: 15/16 inch (24 mm). 5. Flame Spread Index of 0 and a Smoke Developed Index of 10 as tested per ASTM E84. 6. R-value: 8.0 7. STC Rating: Up to 30 for the curtain and up to 32 for the entire assembly, as tested per ASTM E90 and based on testing a complete, operable assembly 8. Motor Standard Use Model MG (Industrial Duty Gear Head) Operator: ½ HP min. Momentary Contact to Close 9. Safety: Chain operated doors shall be designed so that the door immediately stops upward or downward travel and is maintained in a stationary position when the hand chain is released by user 10. Wind Loading: Supply doors to be operational up to 20 PSF maximum wind load. 11. Cycle Life: Design doors of standard construction for normal use of up to 20 cycles per day maximum, and an overall maximum of 50,000 operating cycles for the life of the door. Ø Submittals/Product Data 1. Shop Drawings: Include special conditions not detailed in Product Data. Show interface with adjacent work. 2. Provide manufacturer ISO 9001:2015 registration 3. Provide manufacturer and installer qualifications 4. Provide manufacturer's installation instructions 5. Provide Operation and Maintenance Manual 6. Provide Certificate stating that installed materials comply with this specification 8) Question: Do we need to remove any masonry for the opening? Answer: Yes, saw cut and install lintel per manufacture recommendation. 9) Question: Are we to install the steel lintel and frame? Answer: Yes 10) Question: Are there any pictures of the existing opening? Answer: See below. Interior Exterior 11) Question: On the door schedule there is one sliding door system, that comes with motion and safety sensors - are press plates still needed if that is the case? Answer: Yes, a press plate will be used to exit through this door and motion sensor to enter. 12) The first pair of doors on hardware schedule are noted as having a motion sensor and press plate. Is the VA looking for a motion sensor to activate the door from one side? (This is NOT typical and has safety concerns) Typical is infrared buttons on each side of door system. Answer: This door will use a motion sensor for exiting and a press plate to enter. 13) Is there a floor plan showing door numbers and press plate locations? Answer: The provided drawing documents show the door locations(s) and the wireless press plate location (s) will be discussed between the COR and awarded contractor. End of Amendment A0003
