Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) 1600 Clifton Road NE, Atlanta, Georgia, intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Life Technologies Corporation for the procurement of supplies and reagents from Life Technologies that are produced only by Life Technologies and/or meet approved technical requirements mandated by the Virology, Surveillance, and Diagnosis Branch (VSDB) Quality Management Systems, FDA 510(k) clearance of diagnostic assays, and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) standards. VSDB also uses specific instrumentation designed and produced solely by Life Technologies for which parts, reagents and consumables are only provided by that vendor. Since these supplies and reagents have been qualified to meet technical laboratory standards and incorporated into standard operating procedures throughout the Branch, the CDC believes that Life Technologies Corporation is the only responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(ii) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). The North American Industry Classification System code for this procurement is 334516- �Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing�. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist Joseph Gugumuck at qna4@cdc.gov by 5:00PM, April 8, 2022.
