It is for market research purposes only. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of industry, to include the Small Business Community: Small Business, Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-Zone), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB), and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB). The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsible contractors. Small business, Section 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, & EDWOSB businesses are highly encouraged to participate. NAICS Code: 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing NAICS Size Standard: 1,000 Subject: Sources Sought for compatible Microwave Digestion System with MARS 6 Batch Microwave Digestion System Sources Sought Closing Response Date: April 4, 2022 Contact Point: Kimberly Schneider, krschneider@usgs.gov Objective: To find sources that are qualified to meet the supplies/services as listed below. Note that the specific requirements are subject to change prior to the release of any solicitation. The U.S. Geological Survey Columbia Environmental Research Center (USGS-CERC, Columbia, MO) requires one (1) laboratory batch microwave accelerated reaction digestion system, with performance equal to or better than the CEM Corporation MARSTM 6 batch microwave digestion system equipped with an internal thermal printer and an infrared temperature control option to control the temperatures of all digestion vessels in each batch (CEM product codes 927500, 512060, and 512195, respectively). A batch shall consist of a maximum of 40 vessels and a minimum of 2 vessels within a single turntable/rotor. The system will also be equipped with MARSXpress vessel starter sets as specified below. The MARSXpress vessels have three pieces (liner, cap, plug) that are simple to assemble and dissemble, and the design self-regulates pressure inside the vessels to mitigate the risk of over-pressurization. Each vessel set has a size-appropriate open-design turntable with 40 numbered positions and 40 composite sleeves for quick cooling post-digestion. USGS-CERC currently owns multiple sets of 75-mL PFA, 55-mL TFM, and 20-mL PFA vessel sets. Therefore, the proposed microwave digestion system must be fully operable/compatible with the MARSXpress vessels and turntables already owned by USGS-CERC. Responses: All interested parties should notify this office via e-mail within the posted date. Responses shall be limited to 3 pages and shall include: 1. Capability statement describing expertise and technical qualifications in the work described above. Capability statement must state capability for all items ""a"" through ""d"". 2. Past performance information describing other contracts for similar services your company has been awarded. Past performance information should be submitted for projects conducted within the last three years and include: project title, location, whether the work was as a prime or subcontractor, contract/subcontract dollar value, type of contract, percentage of self-performed work, and overall performance rating received. 3. Small business status of vendor (8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.) 4. Point of contact information for vendor, Cage Code, and D&B Number. 5. Any other information that will prove the vendor is capable of performing the required effort.
