- 676-22-117 Fire Doors Tomah VA Medical Center Statement of Work GENERAL This project will replace fire doors on the Tomah campus that failed inspection, cracked, missing appropriate hardware, and in need of replacement.� Selected fire doors are to be removed and replaced in accordance with VA Handbook 0730-4 and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Code standard, latest edition, 101-7.2.1.5 and 7.2.1.6. This project will also include testing and certification of fire doors that are missing certification labels. SCOPE OF WORK The following items of work should be accomplished: Test, certify, and attach certification label to Fire doors IAW VA Handbook 0730-4 and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Code standard, latest edition, 101-7.2.1.5 and 7.2.1.6. List in Appendix A Replacement and dispose of fire doors on list in Appendix A Inspect framing to ensure match up with new fire doors. Replace fire door framing if needed. (Must be steel frame) Replace fire doors on list in Appendix A IAW VA Handbook 0730-4 and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Code standard, latest edition, 101-7.2.1.5 and 7.2.1.6. Replace fire door hardware must be fitted with a mortise lock with a deadlock feature lAW ANSIIBHMA A 156.13 American National Standards for Mortise Locks Four (4) doors are of metal construction and seventeen (17) are of wooden fire door construction. Conduct Fire Door inspection, test and certify IAW VA Handbook 0730-4. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The contractor shall provide all material, supplies, equipment and labor to perform the Scope of Work in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs� codes and specifications. Provide a schedule for work to be completed.� Provide a schedule of values. Work on weekends and Federal Holidays and after hours must be approved by the COR. Work with the COR to close sidewalks, traffic lanes or parking lots as needed. Parking areas that are closed shall be blocked off using cones and road barriers. Access to building entrances and open parking areas must be maintained. Provide the COR with a two-week notice prior to working in the various areas. The COR will need to advise employees of restricted areas. TIMELINE: This work will require scheduling to provide alternate pedestrian traffic patterns.� It is critical to maintain a schedule that provides enough time to complete work and reduce disruption to Medical Center operations.� Be aware that some arrangements may take up to two weeks. The schedule for this work is not to exceed 90 calendar days.
