- Description
- This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Firm-Fixed price purchase order toREES SCIENTIFIC CORPORATION, Trenton, NJ 08638,on a sole source basis to provide preventative maintenance, calibration, and validation for the Rees Scientific Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) already existing within the NIH Department of Laboratory Medicine. The Department of Laboratory medicine utilizes the EMS to continuously monitor laboratory equipment, including freezers, refrigerators, and incubators, which contain clinical material, research material, and testing samples critical to programs in the Clinical Center. REES SCIENTIFIC CORPORATION is the sole vendor of the Rees Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) and is the only vendor that can provide the preventative maintenance, calibration, and validation needed to support patients care. Because of the criticality of this system, only fully GMP/GDP-trained technicians, certified and trained with the REES system, can service the inputs in this system. A lapse in monitoring or a failure of the system to properly monitor and report data can directly impact patient products and the ability to treat patients. Period of Performance shall be for a base year of twelve (12) months and four (4) twelve-month option years from the award date. This acquisition is being conducted under the authority of the FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), allowing the Contracting Officer (CO) to solicit from one source. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219, with a large business standard size of $22.5 million. This notice of intent to award is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested concerns capable of providing the same products or services as described in this notice may submit a capability statement outlining their capabilities. No solicitation is available. Information received will be evaluated for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability Statements must be received within the time outlined in this synopsis to be considered by the Government.
