Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE BRIDGE CONTRACT UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302-1, only one source being available to meet the Government�s need. The contract will be for a six-month ordering period with an option of extending the service for an additional six-month ordering period. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 532283 - Home Health Equipment Rental, with a small business size standard of $35M.� The FSC/PSC is 6515 - Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and award a sole source bridge contract to provide home oxygen supplies and services for the VA Southern Nevada Health Care System to ROTECH HEALTHCARE INC., 3600 Vineland Rd STE 114, Orlando, FL, 32811. The contractor shall provide all required supplies, materials, labor, supervision, transportation, patient education, safety management, and infection control. The service supports the Prosthetic and Sensory Aid Service (PSAS). The current contract expires July 31st, 2022, and services are still required. This bridge contract will ensure services are provided for an ordering period of up to one year to continue services if necessary. This bridge contract will allow enough time for the long-term contract to be competed and awarded. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Justification and Approval, citing the authority of FAR 6.302-1, will be posted for the public inspection on or about 14 days after the contract has been awarded. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals by 4:00 PM PST 13 June 2022 via email to Victoria.Torres@va.gov. All proposals received by the closing date specified herein will be considered by the Government for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. However, a determination by the Government to not compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
