- Description
- A Weight Handling Equipment Industry Forum sponsored by Navy Crane Center will be held via Microsoft Teams on 23 June 2022 starting at 1200 East Coast time for those businesses interested in this procurement and that classify as a Small Business under North American Industry Standard 333923.� The purpose of this Industry Forum is to provide information regarding the scope of the upcoming Large Capacity Weight Handling Equipment Multiple Award Contract (WHEMAC) and to provide other relevant information regarding the overall pre-award and post-award process for this proposed procurement.� In order for the Government to better answer the questions of interested parties at the Industry Forum, please submit questions prior to the forum.� All questions regarding the WHEMAC requirements should be submitted to Mikel Outen, email address mikel.l.outen.civ@us.navy.mil by 17 June 2022. This WHEMAC will be used primarily for the ordering of new, and the overhaul of existing, weight handling equipment (WHE) of varying types (bridge cranes, portal cranes (overhaul only), jib cranes and gantry cranes) and lifting capacities for Navy, Marine Corps and other federal activities worldwide. The work contemplated under this WHEMAC will include, but not be limited to: site survey/investigation; design; fabrication; crane rail alignment survey/installation; demolition/removal of existing cranes and equipment in compliance with environmental disposal restrictions; runway/equipment electrification; crane installation; crane testing; and operational training. Cranes will be designed and manufactured in accordance with CMAA 70 and CMAA 74 (as applicable) as modified by NAVCRANECENINST 11450.2A, and certifiable in accordance with NAVFAC P-307. Application for use of the weight handling equipment to be procured under this WHEMAC may range from general purpose to more complex applications, including handling of fissionable materials, molten metals, ordnance, and hazardous area applications as defined by the National Electric Code. The Large Capacity WHEMAC will primarily be used for, but is not limited to, the procurement of new WHE and/or overhaul of existing WHE with the following characteristics: � 15-ton capacity and greater with span of 50 feet and greater � Greater than 30-ton capacity, any span � Greater than 60-foot span, any capacity � Any capacity used for handling molten metals � Any capacity used for handling of fissionable materials � Overhaul of existing portal cranes The Government reserves the right to award up to a maximum of 10 Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts under one Large Capacity WHEMAC.� Award will be based on source selection criteria.� This procurement will be a small business set-aside.� Participation in the Industry Forum is not a prerequisite for submitting any future proposal.� However, it will provide a valuable opportunity for questions and answers.� All registration requests to participate in the Industry Day should be submitted via email to mikel.l.outen.civ@us.navy.mil by 17 June 2022.� Your request should include: 1) company name; 2) address; 3) telephone number; 4) email address; 5) size of business (i.e. small business, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HubZone small, women owned small, service-disabled veteran owned small); and 6) list of participants.
