Description

***** This is a REQUEST FOR INTEREST ONLY! This request does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid. The intent of this request is to identify potential offerors for market research purposes only. ***** Request for Information (RFI) Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS), which manages and operates portions of the Savannah River Site (SRS) under a Department of Energy (DOE) prime contract, solicits expressions of interest from potential vendor with capability, and capacity to store and deliver new barrels.� ���� This RFI is issued to assist with finding potential suppliers interested in this solicitation. The SRS is located approximately 15 miles south of Aiken, South Carolina and is 310 contiguous square miles. Scope Summary: Store and deliver new empty barrels to SRS. Will require approximately 45,000 sq ft to store barrels. Square footage is based on using racking that is five (5) tiers high.� Shorter racks will require equivalent increase in square footage. Barrels will contain some interior liners and insolation. Barrels will be coated carbon steel and weighing approximately 225 Pounds per barrel.� Vendor will never handle barrels with radiological or nuclear waste/contamination. Will need to deliver approximately 6500 barrels per year on a weekly delivery schedule.� Deliveries will need to be timely and have capacity for daily changes to delivery numbers.� The barrels are government owned property.� Barrels shall be stored at Level B Storage per ASME NQA-1-2019.� Storage will begin in 2027 and last 20 years. SRNS will purchase barrels from manufacturer/supplier to be delivered to vendor�s warehouse.� Shipping configuration will be four (4) barrels per pallet wrapped in shrink wrap. They should be delivered to SRS in the same manner. A supplier's response to the RFI does not guarantee they will be selected to participate in the RFP. Suppliers responding to this RFI shall include evidence of the following: Submit detailed capabilities statement including, for example management and personnel structure. Describe how you will establish and maintain list of government owned barrels. Provide warehouse location (address) Overview of how the subcontractor intends to perform the service therein. Examples of past performance in warehousing. E-mail response addressing Items 1 through 5 above shall be submitted by 5:00 p.m. est. on 7/5/22 to Barbara McCarty at barbara.mccarty@srs.gov.
