SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR KENTUCKY LOCK ""B"" PARALLEL ANCHORAGE FABRICATION THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION, INVITATION FOR BID, REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ), OR A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP).� This is a sources sought announcement only. This sources sought is for acquisition planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Governement to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a supply contract. Any cost incurred as a result of the announcement shall be borne by the interested party (prospective offeror) and will not be charge to the Government for reimbursement. Respondents will not be notified of the results of any Government assessment.� PURPOSE:� The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is conducting this Sources Sought in support of Market Research to notify and seek potential qualified members of industry to gain knowledge of capabilities, interest, and qualifications; to include the Small Business Community for completing the work effort related to the fabrication of ""B"" Parallel Anchorage Frames and one set of A and B anchor rods and associated parts for the upper and lower miter gates at Kentucky Lock in Grand Rivers, KY. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be used by the Government in making appropriate acqusition decisions. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsive contractors. The type of set-aside decision will depend upon the responses to this sources sought.� NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME.� SCOPE OF WORK (SUBJECT TO CHANGE):� The work consists of effort related to the strucutral fabrication of hydraulic steel structures called miter gate anchorages for Kentucky Lock. The anchorage replacement consists of the �B� parallel anchorage frames for the upper and lower miter gates, and one set of A and B anchor rods, which incorporate a combination of parts including anchor bars, gudgeon links, pins, bushing, washers, and bolts. The gate anchorage frames are embedded in concrete allowing for a secure anchoring point for the miter gates and consist of four prestressed anchor bolts. The embedded frames will be approximately 3 ft high, 8 ft wide, and 4 ft long, and weigh 16,000 lbs. The anchor bolts will be approximately 38 ft long, and the system will weigh 6,500 lbs. per anchorage. The anchor bars will be 9 ft long and the assembly will weigh about 9,000 lbs. The parallel anchorages hold the weight of the miter gate leaf while in recess hence being parallel with the gate. The contract requires fabrication of four anchorage frames and one set of A and B anchorage rod assemblies for Kentucky Lock. The fabricator will deliver and unload the anchorage frames and anchorage assemblies to Kentucky Lock located in Grand Rapids, KY. The exposed components are to be painted with the 3-A-Z vinyl paint system.� Location: Kentucky Lock, Grand Rivers, KY� CAPABILITY STATEMENT TO SHOW INTEREST AND INTENT:� Respondents interested in performing the proposed project as a prime contractor should submit a capability statement for consideration that include the following: (In A through I).� A. Offeror's name, address, points of contact with telephone numbers and e-mail addresses.� B. Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) and CAGE Code� C. Are you a small business under this NAICS code?� D. Business sieze/classifications to include any designations (Small Business, HUBZone, 8(a), Women-Owned, Service-Disabled Veteran-owned, etc.)� E. A Statement of Capability (SOC) stating your skills, experience, and knowledge required to perform the specified type of work as described above. This SOC should be a brief description of your company's capabilities. Include a statement detailing any specifications and certifications, applicable to the scope fo this project, held by your firm and/or in-house personnel. The potential bidders should provide brief references of relevant work they have performed and the magnitude.� F. Indicate whether your company will perform the work directly or intends to subcontract the work. If subcontracting, identify the percentage of work to be subcontracted. Identify the percentage of work your firm may be capable of directly performing.� G. A statement regarding past bonding and evidence of your bonding capability.� H. Please indicate whether your firm will submit an offer for this project.� I.
