Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole source contract under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) intends to solicit and award a sole source contract to ConverDyn located in Greenwood Village, CO, 80111. ConverDyn is the exclusive marketing organization for the output of the Honeywell UF6 conversion plant in Metropolis, Illinois. The anticipated period of performance will be for five years. ��� Under this award, ConverDyn will process up to approximately one million pounds of uranium concentrates of U3O8 and convert it to an equivalent quantity of natural uranium hexafluoride (�UF6�). ConverDyn will deliver the UF6 by book transfer to the NNSA account at the ConverDyn facility in Metropolis, Illinois. Converdyn will also store all converted UF6 for the Government. ConverDyn is the only company in the U.S. with the technical capability to convert U3O8 into UF6. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions shall be submitted to Michael Thomey, Contracting Officer, at Michael.Thomey@NNSA.DOE.GOV by 8 AM EST July 18, 2022.
