- Description
- PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Nashville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a firm fixed-price construction contract for Wilson Lock, Elevator Rehab. The work is located at Wilson Lock in Florence, Alabama. The scope of this contract is to provide all material, labor, tools, and equipment necessary to remove the existing elevator components and replace/upgrade with new components for the Nashville District elevator located at Wilson Lock, in Florence, Alabama. The Wilson Lock Elevator has only 2 floors that are approximately 90 feet apart.The elevator shall meet current AL State qualifications, ADA and the American National Standard Safety codes for elevators, dumbwaiters, escalators and moving walks. Elevator work shall be performed by those persons qualified to enter and work on the equipment. An Alabama license shall be sent along with RFP for this project as proof of qualification. The work shall include: 1. Replace Braking System 2. Install a variable frequency drive (VFD) 3. Provide a non- proprietary programmable logic controller (PLC) and controller cards 4. Replace main Drive Motor5. Cabinet and all other boxes shall be NEMA-3R 6. Contractor shall replace main motor mechanical stop with current technology 7. Replace ribbon cable to elevator car8. Replace Push buttons and positional limit switches in system 9. Seal all conduits entering or leaving panels and control boxes 10. All conduits shall contain a minimum of 5 spare wires 11. Install fire alarm to meet current fire/elevator codes and standards 12. Replace phone in the car and upgrade/install phone system to meet current codes and standards The specifications will be provided with the solicitation announcement. DISCLOSURE OF THE MAGNITUDE OF THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION PROJECT: Between $100,000 and $500,000. NAICS CODE AND SBA SIZE STANDARD: 238290- Other Building Equipment Contractors, Size Standard $16.5M.
