Kennedy Space Center, Center Planning and Development Office Description The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC), provides notice that the Agency plans to issue an Announcement for Proposals (AFP), seeking proposals to lease KSC�s Vehicle Assembly Building, High Bay 1 (VAB HB1) to provide commercial space launch services, including launch vehicle processing, integration, and testing. Only United States Commercial Providers, as defined in the Space Commerce Act, 51 U.S.C. � 50101(7), will be eligible to submit a proposal. NASA will continue to use and occupy the VAB and will act as the site operator for the VAB. Lease terms will be included with the AFP. Commercial use of VAB HB1 will support NASA in fulfilling its mandate to promote the National Space Policy of the United States, December 9, 2020, and the general welfare of the United States, which requires that NASA seek and encourage, to the maximum extent possible, the fullest commercial use of space. The due date for responses will be set forth in the AFP. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the Internet site below for the release of the AFP and to download a copy of the AFP and all amendments.
