- This is a Request For Information - This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. No contract will be awarded as a result of this Sources Sought announcement. The United States Geological Survey, Office of Acquisition and Grants is soliciting information from qualified sources; the results of this announcement will be evaluated to determine if there are businesses capable of performing the proposed work. The US Geological Survey, Office of Acquisition and Grants seeks responses from vendors that possess the capability to provide wildlife telemetry devices consisting of capabilities of 40 ES-420 Ultralight backpack or leg loop wildlife loggers. Required Specifications: Telemetry loggers containing: 1) Backpack, leg-loop, and leg mounted attachment options 2) 9-D sensor node containing accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer in x, y, and z axes 3) Multiple and nested geofences for adaptive duty cycling or alerts 4) Motion triggered adaptive duty cycling (i.e. flight detection and tracking) 5) Activity monitoring 6) Internal Transmitter 7) 4G connectivity throughout North America 8) Solar recharging 9) On board data storage Cellular Tracking Technologies (CTT) is the only U.S. manufacturer of wildlife tracking receiver equipment small enough to put on target species (10g or lighter) and containing no external antenna and which also contains multiple mechanisms to remotely alter data collection schedules based on: location, pattern of motion (i.e. while flying), or based on activity (e.g. resting/sleeping). In addition, they are the only manufacturer of GPS/GSM tags that integrate with the international MOTUS tracking network and that operate on this network within the US. In addition, they are the only company producing GPS/GSM wildlife loggers with an integrated MOTUS receiver. There are no alternate companies that produce a GPS tracker that can be deployed on migratory birds and which also serves as a mobile receiving platform for MOTUS tagged animals.
