- The purpose of this amendment is to extend the end date and answer a question from a contractor: Q. Is the listed temperature of -56 degrees Celsius the operational or the survival temperature? A. Survival is fine. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing one hyperspectral imager as described in the required features and specifications below. This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code - 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with the associated size standard of 1,000 employees apply to this announcement. All responsible sources may submit a brochure and/or technical specifications detailing the ability of their product to meet the required features and specifications included with this announcement. Responses to this announcement shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to thuot@usgs.gov and must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than July 29, 2022 at 1700 PD. Responses submitted by hardcopy, or the SAM web portal shall not be accepted or considered. Required features and specifications: 1. 400-2500 nm spectral range 2. Size: no larger than 15 x 10 x 10 inches (this includes the imaging spectrometer and INS/GPS but does not include the controlling computer) 3. Spatial pixels: 500 or better 4. Frames per second (> 100 fps) for averaging 5. Power use <100 Watts for the imaging spectrometer 6. Capability for integrated INS and DAU for positioning and data storage 7. Spectral channels and FWHM: 200 bands, 3nm or better in VNIR, 300 bands, 6 nm or better in SWIR 8. Must be able to function at 65,000 feet (-56.5 degrees Celsius and 5639 Pa) 9. Weight: 7 kg or less (for the imaging spectrometer and INS/GPS)
