Description

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.� IAW FAR 6.302-1(a) - Only One Responsible�Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements -�this purchase order is intended to be awarded as a sole source procurement�to MELLING INC, �for the Leica Microsystems Envisu C2300 portable pediatric optical coherence tomography (OCT) device includes the following: �Hand-held OCT scan head and mobile cart �High-resolution (3 um) real-time imaging �3-D volumetric data capturing capability with fully customizable high density data scans up to 1000 x 1000 �General retina lens �Telecentric (18 mm) lens ��Installation, calibration, and on-site training The Leica Microsystems Envisu C2300 OCT is an exact replacement for a broken 8-year-old Bioptigen SDOIS system that has been used in a number of National Eye Institute (NEI) studies. Standard-of-care non-ambulatory patients have also been examined in the operating room, intensive care unit, and the clinic with the Bioptigen unit. Although the Bioptigen company was acquired by Leica Microsystems in 2015, Leica has continued to produce Bioptigen portable OCTs but they have changed the name of the product to �Envisu C2300.� Because the Envisu C2300 OCT is an exact replacement for the Bioptigen name brand system that we have, the continuity and integrity of the existing NEI research and clinical OCT data will be maintained with this brand-named acquisition.� This request is for the purchase of a unique brand-name-only Leica Microsystems Envisu C2300 OCT. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.� However,�all proposals received by the date specified herein will be�considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to�compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will�normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties may identify their interest and may submit a quote and/or capability statement by 5:00 PM EST, 7 August 2022, which shall be considered by the Government.�Capability statements and quotes shall be sent via email to�holleyv@od.nih.gov.
