Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, intends to negotiate with Universal Shielding Corp. (Cage: 62417), located in Deer Park, NY, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106(b), soliciting from a single source to purchase services to test, inspect, repair and/or replace absorbers in the Boulder�s Antenna Chamber. NIST�s Radio Frequency Fields Group requires these services to due to the group identifying substandard absorbers which have loosened or fallen. Universal Shielding Corp. is the only known vendor capable of meeting this requirement as they are the initial installers of the equipment and offer free replacement services to their own, proprietary equipment. The NAICS Code is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a small business standard of $22 million. NIST anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed-price contract to Universal Shielding Corp. for this requirement. Interested parties that can demonstrate they could satisfy the requirement listed above for NIST must clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition. If competitive procedures are not used, it is estimated that an award will be issued by September 2, 2022. Any questions regarding this notice must be submitted in writing via email to aaron.ritter@nist.gov. All responses to this notice of intent must be submitted to aaron.ritter@nist.gov no later than August 24, 2022 at 10 a.m. (MT).
