- The Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 02 intends to solicit from a single source IAW FAR 13.106(b) to obtain service and maintenance on its currently in-house Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner. Period of performance (estimated): 10/1/2022 through 09/30/2023 (Base Year) Basic description of the requirement: CANON MEDICAL SYSTEMS USA, INC is the manufacturer and developer of their Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner, the proprietary software and a hardware associate with this device are not able to be worked on by an other-than Canon Service Rep without voiding the warranties of the equipment. Canon is also the sole authorized provider of maintenance and support as stated in the warranty included with this device. Cannon does sells service packages for this specific Scanner within the United States, direct to the owner of the equipment, however it does not utilize or employ other authorized dealers/distributors that can perform the service without risk of voiding the warranty. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by September 06, 2022 at 14:00 Eastern Standard Time (EST). The Department of Veterans Affairs will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice of intent. Only written responses from responsible sources will be considered. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award. Interested parties are encouraged to furnish information by email only with RESPONSE TO INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE CANON SCANNER in the subject line. All documents submitted, will not be returned.
