- Description
- Notice of Intent to Sole Source The Baltimore District of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, 2 Hopkins Plaza, Third Floor, Baltimore MD 21201, is issuing a notice of intent to sole source an award to Getinge USA, Inc. 1777 E Henrietta Rd, Rochester, NY 14623 for the purchase of an Annual Service Agreement for technical support and maintenance of one (1) Getinge 533LS-E Steam Sterilizer with Integral Boiler at the Washington Aqueduct, Washington, D.C. The work to be done under these specifications consists of the contractor to provide on-call and on-site assistance in areas pertaining to the Getinge 533LS-E steam sterilizer operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. These services are needed to ensure continuous technical service support. The Government intends to negotiate solely with Getinge USA, Inc. in accordance with Per FAR 13.501(a), as no other source of supplies/service will satisfy agency requirements. By continuing with a contract with Getinge USA, Inc. the Government will be able to conduct routine testing for microbiological organisms as required by EPA regulations which is a mission-critical service for evaluating drinking water quality. Proper performance and maintenance of a laboratory steam sterilizer is an EPA requirement for maintaining laboratory certification under the EPA Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). Therefore, it is essential that the laboratorys steam sterilizer is properly maintained and quickly repaired for ensuring accuracy, reliability, and optimization of equipment. Delays in receiving technical support of these units would cause project acquisition interruptions/pauses and, therefore, cost the Government additional time and money. It is in the best interest of the Government and cost efficient to have Getinge USA, to perform this additional work. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 811219, with a small business size standard of $22,000,000. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. However, responses may be submitted to Monique Jones at monique.l.jones@usace.army.mil and responses received no later than Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 2:00PM shall be considered by the Agency.
