Description
Fargo VAMC Uninterruptible Power Supply Inspection and Maintenance Vendor Questions (in bold) and Answers (in red) Could you provide the number of batteries in the 4- Eaton systems and the 1- APC system? The three Eaton systems # 9355-30 (S/N EB382KXX12, EB382KXX27, BF396KXX23) in the computer room have 108 batteries each. The IR (Interventional Radiation) Eaton #93PM-50 system (S/N EM411UXX05) has 120 batteries. The APC Smart UPS 1500 system (S/N AS2047342438) in the Penthouse has 2 batteries.  Could you please provide the model numbers of the batteries also? Pictures of batteries and or the battery labels. The model number and make of the batteries depends on the Eaton/APC recommendations. The links below will answer the question of spec and model available to be replaced.  Eaton 9355 UPS Replacement Batteries (alpinepowersystems.com) (https://alpinepowersystems.com/backup-power-products/backup-batteries/ups-batteries/eaton-ups-system-replacement-batteries/eaton-9355-replacement-batteries/) Eaton 93PM UPS System Replacement Batteries (alpinepowersystems.com) (https://alpinepowersystems.com/backup-power-products/backup-batteries/ups-batteries/eaton-ups-system-replacement-batteries/eaton-93pm-ups-batteries/) APC Smart-UPS X 1500VA Rack/Tower LCD 120V with Network Card (Not for sale in CO, VT or WA) - SMX1500RM2UNC | APC Canada (https://www.apc.com/ca/en/product/SMX1500RM2UNC/apc-smartups-x-1500va-rack-tower-lcd-120v-with-network-card-not-for-sale-in-co-vt-or-wa/) And can you please confirm that you would like all the batteries replaced in the base year of the contract? See Amended Solicitation SOW Vendor will remove spent batteries and provide proper EPA disposal of spent batteries at the beginning of this contract. And line items 0002 and 0003. It states that you would like 1 PM a year on all 5 UPS systems and 24/7 nonscheduled service.  Would you like all parts included in the other than batteries and capacitors?  Or would parts be considered extra? The quote should include batteries, capacitors and any other items necessary to complete the preventative maintenance (to include parts). The Battery Tray listed on the Solicitation to be replaced has been discontinued and is no longer available. However, these Battery Trays do not need to be replaced as they are reusable (The batteries within the trays can be replaced and the trays themselves reused). Will you accept pricing that replaces the batteries within the trays while reusing the trays that are currently in place?  We are removing the requirement that battery trays be replaced during the contract, with the exception of during unscheduled remedial repairs. Do any of the Eaton 9355 or Smart-UPS units have additional external batteries? Or, do just the internal batteries need to be replaced?  They have only internal batteries. The Eaton 93PM does not utilize the same batteries mentioned in the proposal. There are multiple different specs/models/quantities of batteries that could be installed. In order to quote a battery replacement for this unit, we need to know the model # and quantity of batteries installed. Could you please provide this information? The three Eaton systems # 9355-30 (S/N EB382KXX12, EB382KXX27, BF396KXX23) in the computer room have 108 batteries each. The IR (Interventional Radiation) Eaton #93PM-50 system (S/N EM411UXX05) has 120 batteries. The APC Smart UPS 1500 system (S/N AS2047342438) in the Penthouse has 2 batteries. Could you please let us know if the site has a loading dock that can accept shipment of the batteries?   The Fargo VAMC does have a loading dock that can accept battery shipments. Are you looking for a full-service contract (all parts and labor) or just emergency response (parts and labor billable). This sentence makes it seem like you may be looking for full service: The contractor shall bear the cost of labor, travel and expenses provided under this contract for maintaining the specified equipment in good operating condition, when such labor is required because of normal wear and tear.     We are stating here that the quote for the annual preventative maintenance and the remedial repair line items have to cover the costs of labor, travel and expenses, these items will not be billed separately. How many batteries are in each system?  See attached E-mail The three Eaton systems # 9355-30 (S/N EB382KXX12, EB382KXX27, BF396KXX23) in the computer room have 108 batteries each. The IR (Interventional Radiation) Eaton #93PM-50 system (S/N EM411UXX05) has 120 batteries. The APC Smart UPS 1500 system (S/N AS2047342438) in the Penthouse has 2 batteries. Are you looking for a separate quote to replace all batteries in each system? That is what page 9 seems to indicate. See Amended Solicitation SOW Vendor will remove spent batteries and provide proper EPA disposal of spent batteries at the beginning of this contract. And line items 0002 and 0003. It says on page 7 that Vendor will provide a factory authorized technician to perform inspection That would mean that the technicians need to be employees of Eaton and APC, and, consequently, not a VOSB.  We are trained on Eaton and APC equipment, but factory authorized means very specifically a factory/manufacturer employee.  Can you clarify the needs of the VA regarding this?  We require technicians to have the equivalent experience/training of authorized factory trained technicians.
