- Wilmington, DE VA Medical Center Wilmington, DE 19805 SCOPE OF WORK For East Entrance Exterior Door Replacement Project No. 460-21-001 PROVIDE: Professional construction services to include but not limited to: Site investigation- Mechanical, electrical, concrete, painting and construction. Furnish and install all items per plan and drawings. Infection Control Risk Assessment- -- Project Scope GENERAL: The Wilmington, Delaware VA Medical Center intends to issue a construction contract. The project consists of: Remove existing East Entrance doors Install new Besam/ASSA ABLOY automatic opposite swinging doors SPECIFICS: The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, supervision, and personnel necessary to accomplish the project as indicated in the specifications. Work includes but is not limited to trades required for the construction in the East Entrance of building #1, including but not limited to: general construction, alterations, renovations, concrete work, exterior finishes, and interior finishes. Refer to the construction specifications as accompanied herewith for details of the scope of work for this contract. Contractor shall remove and dispose of the old door and all accessories from the old door. Patch and fill any area that needs to be brought back to normal appearance. Contractor shall Install in East Entrance, automatic glass doors with mag locks and automatic door openers, with anodized aluminum framing. Glass doors shall open in opposite directions to go with the proper flow of traffic. Door header shall be made to accommodate and provide access to door operating mechanics. Entry into the building to be controlled by RFID card access after hours and controlled by motion during regular business hours. Exit from the building to be controlled by Request to exit sensor. In event of fire alarm activation the doors shall be able to be pushed open for emergency exit. Automatic doors shall be on a designated EMERGENCY power circuit. Doors shall be installed by a certified Besam/ ASSA ABLOY installer. Contractor shall finish area around existing door to make flush with outside of building and ready to accept door frame and be able to be weather tight. Contractor is to repair all wall damage and close in wall where old door has been removed. Remove two carpet pads and tie in new flooring to match existing. The contractor shall post signage in required areas: Battery backup LED exit sign mounted to ceiling in front of automatic double doors leading out towards the outside, tied into hallway pre-existing EMERGENCY power, door glass stickers stating CAUTION AUTOMATIC DOORS. Construction activity shall involve all disciplines listed in Item 1 above. Infection control and safety measures shall be provided per the contract drawings and specifications throughout the construction period to minimize risks. All work shall be completed in accordance with the latest ANSI, VA, UFAS, local, state and federal regulations. All work to be performed on Monday through Friday from 7:00am till 4:30pm. All employees of the general contractor and subcontractors shall comply with the VA security management program and obtain permission of the VA police, be identified by project and employer, and restricted from unauthorized access. Prior to commencing work, the general contractor shall provide proof that an OSHA certified competent person (CP) (29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2) shall maintain a presence at the work site whenever the general or subcontractors are present. The general contractor shall implement the requirements of the VA Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) team, including the establishment and maintenance of a dust control program. Prior to the start of work, the general contractor must prepare a plan detailing project-specific dust protection measure, including periodic status reports, and submit to the COR and Facility ICRA team for review. Consolidate all necessary submittals by specification section on an excel spreadsheet. Checklist to be utilized to track/ monitor submittal process. Contractor shall retain a construction and quality of work warranty for one year after the completion of the project. -- Environmental/Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) EXPECTATION: All projects and project designs shall contain language that addresses all applicable EOSH requirements. Regulatory Compliance EOSH requirements for work performed at the above location can be found in: Volume 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1910 Occupational Safety for General Industry Volume 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1926 Occupational Safety for The Construction Industry Volume 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations Protection of The Environment Volume 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 397 Transportation of Hazardous Materials Title 7 of the Delaware Code Conservation Title 16 of the Delaware Code Health and Safety Specifications The VA Master Construction Specifications contain work procedures and material requirements designed to meet regulatory compliance requirements. Whenever possible, the Master Construction Specifications must be used as the basis for project designs.
