- Description
- STATEMENT OF WORK General Equipment Name: Anesthesia Workstation Description & Salient Characteristics Anesthesia machine used for the administration of anesthetic gases and oxygen to patients undergoing various forms of anesthesia care for patients undergoing surgical and medical operative and diagnostic procedures. Must be compatible with Draeger Vapor 2000 vaporizers. 9 ventilation modes. Flexibility to choose the optimal ventilation mode improves safety, effectiveness, and efficiency during patient care. Low/minimal flow anesthesia capability. This minimizes the use of volatile anesthetics, which saves a great deal of money and protects our environment from excessive waste-gas delivery of these anesthetics to the atmosphere (Desflurane is especially detrimental to the atmosphere and promotes climate change). Automated time-based machine checkouts: the anesthesia machines can go through a thorough checkout. This allows for the identification of problems that may cause case cancellations or case rescheduling at the earliest possible moment. Large 15 viewscreen. Makes for easier interactions with the anesthesia machines, and allows more real-time anesthetic parameters to be displayed simultaneously on 1 screen. Electronic fresh gas mixer. Allows finer control of administered O2 concentrations, and lower fresh gas flows. Automatic recognition of incorrectly connected breathing circuits. Lung recruitment functions. The ventilators on the anesthesia machines must be able to perform automated lung recruitment maneuvers (to expand the lung and recruit collapsed alveoli to open alveoli) which improves oxygen delivery to, and CO2 removal from, the patient, thus enhancing safety and preventing post-op atelectasis. Emergency backup ventilation capability in case of total gas supply failure. Machine capable of improved drug dosing to help reduce the risk of over- or under-dosing the patient during anesthesia.
