- Description
- Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Rodent Genotyping Service The National Institutes of Health intends to award a fixed-price purchase order to Transnetyx, Inc. In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the Contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the specific service listed below. No other source has been identified. The National Institutes of Health, National Eye Institute has a requirement for rodent genotyping service. The Transnetyx online bioinformatics database is currently the only software that can interface directly with an existing Government database known as Softmouse (Iseehear Inc.) which holds existing genotyping data. Transnetyx can provide the genotyping support services, which include DNA extraction and multi-gene analysis for rodent tissue samples. Transnetyx also allows for the direct exportation of genotype results into the Softmouse database. Interface between Softmouse and Transnetyx genotyping services eliminates transcription errors while simplifying work processes for vivarium staff, including order processing and cost. Currently, the majority of NEI investigators are using Transnetyx services and have established protocols with Transnetyx. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any party that believes it can provide the services with the capabilities as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to satisfy the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Correspondence received in response to this notice must include the notice ID number in the subject line of the email. It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately five (5) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another organization has the capability to meet this requirement. Please email responses to zetherine.gore@nih.hhs.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
