Description
STATEMENT OF WORK For Additively Manufactured (AM) Ni-Co-Cr-W-Re-yttria demonstration and specimen rectangular blanks. 1.0 Introduction/Background The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) would like to build upon prior AM work done on NiCrAl, extending it to include experimental NiCoCrWRe alloys with yttrium oxide (yttria) additions and demonstrating AM feasibility. NASA will be making this alloy powder in three different ways and hence batches. Since the alloys will be essentially the same, we expect them to employ similar AM build parameters, however, confirming this and making any needed modifications to such parameters shall be responsibility. 2.0 Scope of Work NASA shall provide three batches of NiCoCrWRe-yttria powder each made using different powder processing methods. Each batch will be shipped to the vendor at a different time within the next 3 years. Each batch shall be at least 30 pounds in weight with size of -325 mesh (5% max +325) . The vendor shall develop suitable process conditions, by building small blocks at varied parameters for determination of suitable settings. The vendor will share images and mounted specimens of these small blocks to help facilitate selection of mutually agreed settings. The vendor shall then print the following deliverables for each batch as outlined in section 3.0 Tasks. 3.0 Tasks 3.1 For each batch of powder build blanks, then heat in inert or vacuum environment to stress relieve them while still on the build plate. Please provide images of the entire build plate showing the blanks, annotating their assigned/printed identification numbers. Final dimensions once removed from build plate: 3.1.1 8 Horizontal Blanks, dimensions: 14.5 x 14.5 x 66.0 mm. The vendor will recommend for NASA approval how to arrange the blanks on the build plates. 3.1.2 8 Vertical Blanks, dimensions: 14.5 x 14.5 x 66.0 mm. The vendor will recommend for NASA approval how to arrange the blanks on the build plates. 4.0 For each batch, the vendor will separately wrap in paper each blank and ship the following to NASA: 4.1.1 8 Horizontal Blanks dimensions: 14.5 x 14.5 x 66.0 mm (from 3.1.1) 4.1.2 8 Vertical Blanks, dimensions: 14.5 x 14.5 x 66.0 mm (from 3.1.2) 4.1.3 Deliver in an airtight sealed container all remaining NiCoCrW-yttria alloy powder that was not used for the above builds in 3.1 (starting powder, virgin). 4.1.4 Deliver in an airtight sealed container all remaining NiCoCrW-yttria alloy powder post printing (recycled) from the above builds.
