- Description
- In accordance with FAR Part 10 - Market Research, the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District is conducting market research to determine the availability of entities within the market to support a construction contract for confined disposal facility repairs to cell 2 & 3 of Pointe Mouillee, Monroe and Wayne counties, Michigan. Participation in the Request for Information (RFI) process is important in that it makes USACE decision-makers aware of the capabilities that exist in the market. Responses will be collected via the attached questionnaire only. Data collected from the responses will become the property of the USACE and will be used to provide a snapshot of how businessess who participated are capable of providing service. USACE does not claim nor suggest participation in this questionnaire will result in consideration or award of a federal contract. Participation in the questionnaire is entirely voluntary and non-participation will not affect the consideration of any company for future federal contracts. The project will address the backlog of maintenance material at the Point Mouillee Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) to prepare for the upcoming dredging actions. Scope is anticipated to include: The installation of 4 culverts through the interior dike(s), removing vegetation, and performing material management across 250 acres of Cells 2 and 3. Vegetation removal includes phragmites and scattered small trees. Previously placed dredged material would be consolidated from the southeastern half of cells 2 and 3 by excavating and hauling material to the northwestern half of cells 2 and 3. The fill location would be spread evenly, and the excavated area will be graded to ensure it drains well to the cell 2 weir. Culverts to be installed in the cross dikes between cells 2 and 3 to allow water to flow between the cells. Goal is to connect the two cells into one large cell instead of two smaller cells, while building capacity for future dredge material.
