Description: The Food and Drug Administration requires a Gas Chromatograph with Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID) for regulatory work in its Nutrition Program. The instrument will be used for the determination of fatty acids in fish oils and fat in cereal products, analyses that are routinely encountered in nutritional work. The Gas Chromatograph with Flame Ionization Detector is the required apparatus for the methods AOAC 991.39 and AOAC 996.01.�
