- INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: Medication Reconciliation (MedRec) Tool THIS IS NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Medication Reconciliation (MedRec) Tool: James J. Peters VA Medical Facility. INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE FOR PURCHASE REQUISITION: 526-22-4-3086-0433: This is not a request for competitive proposals. This is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available and telephone requests will not be honored. The Department of Veterans Affairs VA Medical Center intends to award a one-year, plus one option year Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source contract for a Medication Reconciliation (MedRec) Tool at James J. Peters VA Medical Facility., to the small business (SB) OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Avicenna Medical Systems Proprietary knowledge, technical expertise, and servicing capabilities are proprietary and peculiar to Avicenna Medical Systems. The proposed period of performance will be 9/29/2022 9/28/2023. The required Medication Reconciliation (MedRec) Tool is proprietary to Avicenna Medical Systems. Avicenna Medical Systems is the manufacturer and the sole source provider of the Medication Reconciliation (MedRec) Tool. The Avicenna Medical Systems Medication Reconciliation (MedRec) Tool fully integrates with VistA/Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS). The tool assists with the VA-specific workflow for all health providers. The ability for the tool to interface with VistA/CPRS and incorporate VA-specific provider workflow is vital as the end product list will need to pull and push information between VistA/CPRS and the software tool in order to promote patient safety. The authority for applying the Simplified Procedures for Commercial Items of FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C. 1901. This statute is implemented by for restricting competition on this procurement via FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). The intent is to procure these services on a sole source basis. No solicitation will be posted to Contract Opportunities. The primary North American Classification System Code (NAICS) is 541519 Other Computer Related Services. The most current Business Size Rating for this NAICS is $27.5M. Capable parties may identify their interests and authorization to respond to this requirement by September 20, 2022, at 1400 (EDT). A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed award upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
