- The Veteran s Administration (VA) Office of Research and Development, Regional Procurement Office East in Pittsburgh, PA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Hackensack Meridian Health-Center for Discovery & Innovation on behalf of the VA New Jersey Healthcare System VA NJHCS. The requirement is to provide Animal cages and husbandry services. Required services include: Animal Husbandry: Provide rodent (e.g. mice, rats) cages and husbandry for VA NJHCS Research Services. Technical Services: Technical services may include animal orders and set up, animal shipments/transport, veterinary services, non-routine husbandry services, drug orders, supplies, in house services, surgery/room use, and equipment usage. Core Facilities: Core facility use may include imaging systems, such as PET, MRIs, ultrasounds, data processing, slide set presentation. The prospective contractor shall possess the following: Accreditation by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) Assurance by the Public Health Service (PHS) USDA Registered The requirement will take place at a VA facility New Jersey. The sole source is pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement and supporting documentation to the contracting office no later than Wednesday, Sept 21, 2022 (12:00 PM, EST). A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
