Description
National Institutes of Health Special Notice Notification to Contractors of NIHs Intent to Distribute and Administer the NIH Workplace Civility and Equity Survey: The purpose of this notice is to inform all National Institutes of Health (NIH) contractors of the NIHs intent to conduct a survey to all eligible NIH federal employees, trainees, volunteers, and contractors from participating companies. Westat has been contracted by the NIH to distribute the survey, collect responses, and present aggregated survey responses back to the NIH. The NIH Workplace Civility and Equity Survey will be tentatively released in November 2022, and will be open for a six-week period. The purpose of the survey is to assess the workplace climate at the NIH, and to identify the prevalence of harassment and discrimination in the NIH workplace. The results of this survey will help inform the NIHs strategies towards an inclusive, diverse, and harassment-free workplace. The related Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) Clearance is currently underway. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Once completed, each participants survey response will be given an anonymous code that will prevent the survey response from being linked to the participants name, email address or other personal information. This means that any identifiable information will not be accessible by the NIH or its staff. Contractors participating in this survey should respond to questions in the context of interactions with the NIH staff associated with their NIH work. This survey is not a means to evaluate contractor performance or the work environment of individual contracting companies. If you are a contractor to the NIH and would like to opt-out of allowing your staff to participate in the survey, please have an authorized representative of your organization send an email to NIHWorkplaceCES@mail.nih.gov with the subject line, Opt-out of NIH Workplace Civility and Equity Survey and provide the following information in the body of the email: 1. Your organizations name 2. Your Contract number(s) 3. A complete list of your contract personnel that should be excluded from the survey, including IC affiliation and HHS ID number, distinguished by contract number. In order to ensure that the NIH is able to facilitate opting your organization out of the survey, please submit your intent to opt-out by 5:00pm, Eastern Standard Time (EST), on 9/27/2022. General questions regarding the survey should also be sent to NIHWorkplaceCES@mail.nih.gov.
