Description
The Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Research and Development (R&D), Regional Procurement Office (RPO) East in Pittsburgh, PA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Illumnia, Inc. The requirement is for the procurement of the NEXTSEQ 2000 Sequencing System. The requirement is for the contractor to provide the NEXTSEQ 2000 Sequencing System to Iowa City VA Health Care System Research. This procurement shall be inclusive of shipping and handling charges (FBO Destination). All deliverables shall be checked for comprehensive to ensure the completeness, quality, and adequacy of all deliverables. This procurement is being conducted IAW FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. This is because the Government asserts that Illumnia, Inc., is the only contractor that can provide the specific services, organization expertise, laboratory support, procedural standard specificity and protocol required by the Iowa City VA Health Care System - Research. Specifically, the specifications required are as follows: Shall be able to run whole-genomes, whole-exomes, whole-transcriptomes and single-cell libraries Shall perform a single run in 24-48hrs. Shall have a read depth of 2 x 150bp and 2 x 250bp Shall have a minimum of 300Gb worth of data which translates to roughly ~1.5-2 billion paired-end reads in ~24-48hrs. Shall be capable of generating 150-200X coverage of 10 whole-exomes, 12-15 whole-transcriptomes, or some combination of the latter two in a single run. Shall have 60-90X coverage of a whole-genome that can be achieved in a single 24-48 hour run. Shall sequence one or two exomes or transcriptomes using a mid-output flow cell in 24+ hours. Shall include all shipping costs in the quote. Shall include a minimum 12-month warranty. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement and supporting documentation to the Contracting Officer no later than Friday, September 30, 2022, (10:00 AM, EST). A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
