- Description
- The attached PDF is a DRAFT of Section L only for the effort below. The Government would like to gather industry feedback on the proposed section. PROGRAM: US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM), Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC), Immersive Simulation-Ground Vehicle Simulation Lab (GVSL), Immersive Ground Vehicle Simulation Development and Integration DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND: The United States Army Contracting Command Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA), is contemplating the award of a single five- year Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) Work Directive based contract. This requirement is in support of the DEVCOM, GVSC, GVSL Immersive Ground Vehicle Simulation Development, Integration and Execution, supporting Fiscals Years (FY) 2023 through 2028. This effort is to provide technicalservices for: Immersive Ground Vehicle Simulation development, integration, and execution; Ride Motion Simulation (RMS) and Crew Station/Turret Motion Based Simulation (CS/TMBS); Crew Station development and integration. GVSC-Immersive Simulations GVSL is a world-class facility that develops and applies physics-based simulations, simulators, Crew Station design and virtual simulation in support of Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) military vehicle research, development, acquisition, and life cycle management missions. The GVSLs computer-based models are capable of predicting many measures of vehicle dynamic and structural integrity performance. The GVSLs unique motion-based simulators are used to place users, vehicle subsystems, and full vehicles in a variety of dynamic environments which accurately reproduce motion disturbances experienced during proving ground tests or field operations. The types of engineering and technical services to be provided by the contractor are: systems integration, technology assessment, GVSL assessment, experiment support, technician support, simulation tuning, dynamic vehicle model development, visual vehicle model development, hardware in the loop simulation, user in the loop simulation, interoperation, verification and validation services, configuration management, system administration, reproduce visualization environments, Crew Station development, input device trades, human monitoring, assessment technology exploration and support databases. The modeling and simulation technology developed in the planned effort is intended to build upon the infrastructure currently existing in the GVSL to conduct Virtual Experimentation simulations. This technology will advance the Armys ability to evaluate concept and existing vehicle systems with regard to mobility, durability, and operations on the move. The technologies developed must be able to execute in real-time and must be physics based. The GVSL has developed a baseline capability for Virtual Experimentation simulation with existing motion base simulators, image generators, real-time dynamics models and a simulation software framework which serves as the foundation for these technologies.
