- Description
- Product Manager Wideband Enterprise Satellite Systems (PdM WESS) requests a Firm-Fixed-Price delivery order to be executed against the Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) vehicle for Red Hat software licenses.: PdM WESS has a requirement to re-procure Red Hat Enterprise Linux Software for Virtual Datacenters with Support for continued Wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Trend Analysis and Anomaly Resolution Subsystem/Wideband SATCOM Operational Management System (WSOMS) Mediated Interoperability infrastructure (WSTARS / WMII) performance. Red Hat Enterprise Linux allows for deployment of unlimited guests in a virtualized environment, as the software is stackable allowing it to scale to any size system. The WSTARS/ WMII will be the component of the WSOMS that will provide enhanced data sharing and information management capability while focusing on expanding the trend analysis and anomaly resolution capability. The vision for the WSTARS end-state is a subsystem that replaces the existing Defense Satellite Communication Systems (DSCS) Integrated Management System (DIMS), automates many of the routine satellite resource allocation and configuration functions for managers, and removes many of the routine operator-in-the-loop functions of controllers. This software will be used to support storage of virtualized information on to the WSTARS/WMII subsystem which will help reduced the overall hardware requirements for all Wideband Control subsystems, improving functionality by allowing the other subsystems to operate on a single server with a shared storage platform. As each Wideband subsystem becomes a hosted program onto the WSTARS/WMII platform, a central storage repository is needed to facilitate the sharing of information across the Wideband architecture.
