Description

Pre-Solicitation Notice: Improved Point Detection System Pre-Solicitation Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract.� This is not a solicitation. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), Contracts Department, Code 02 intends to award a sole source contract for the purchase of Improved Point Detection Systems Life-Cycle Replacement (IPDS-LR) and IPDS-LR condensation kits with Bruker Detection System, 400 Manning Road, Billerica, Massachusetts 01821. Bruker Detection System is the sole manufacturer for IPDS-LR. There are no alternates or substitutes with which are adequately networked or able to use. Bruker continues to own all the rights to the IPDS-LR system. Selecting a different chemical detector would lead to unacceptable delays in cost and efforts. The applicable NAICS code is 334519 with a 500-employee size standard.� The PSC is 6665.� This action is be undertaken in accordance with FAR 13.106 (b) Soliciting from a single source, on the basis that the vendor is the only known source capable of meeting the government�s requirements. Interested persons may contact the Contract Specialist regarding this procurement.� The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
