- IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This market survey is for informational and planning purposes only and shall NOT be construed as a Request for Proposal; therefore, no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose other than market research.� REQUIREMENT: The U.S. Army Contracting Command- New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems (PM CAS) both located at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources capable of providing the following items: High Fragmentation Steel (HF-1) for Ammunition Components. HF-1 is a specially formulated steel alloy that is used in various ammunition components including artillery and mortar munitions. MIL-S-70703 is the governing specification for this material, however chemistry requirements are in accordance with MIL-S-50783. Requirements for the production of HF-1: MIL-S-70703 TYPE A MIL-S-50783 Chemical Composition MACROETCH QUALITY SHALL BE EQUAL TO OR BETTER THAN S3, R3 AND C3 OF ASTM E-381. STRAND CAST STEEL PERMITTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH REQUIREMENTS OF MIL-S-70703, CLASS I OR II, TYPE A. All interested sources must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to provide a response. To be considered as a capable source for this effort, all interested parties must submit the requested information as follows: Company's contact information including organizations name, address, point of contact, telephone number, email address, CAGE code, DUNS number, Tax ID number, and business size information; Provide evidence of capabilities to produce HF-1 steel in accordance with the above requirements, including anticipated monthly production rate; Minimum supportable order quantity (monthly or by weight) of HF-1 material in production; Description of experience producing HF-1, or alloys similar, to HF-1 within the past 3 years; Description of the processes to be used to produce HF-1 material in accordance with the above requirements. Description of facilities, personnel, equipment, and environmental compliance as it relates to the above technical services; Provide evidence of Quality Assurance and Reliability programs to support these technical services. Responses shall not exceed 15 pages in length and should provide sufficient detail for the U.S. Government to make a reasonable assessment regarding your company�s capability to produce this item at the required rate. NO CLASSIFIED information shall be submitted. Please identify any proprietary information submitted.� All information provided will not be returned and will be held in confidential status.
