- This is a sources-sought notice / request for information (RFI) only. This is not a request for a quote or proposal. This RFI is issued solely for market research purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. The Government will not reimburse the costs of preparing responses to this RFI. The Government reserves the right to use any information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary to create the resultant solicitation. This RFI is issued by the Bureau of Land Management, Montana/Dakotas State Office, for the purpose of performing market research to determine the availability, interest, and capability of small businesses under NAICS Code 238220. I. Project Description A. Project Purpose: The existing domestic water heater at the Billings Fire Station has failed and repair parts are unavailable. B. Project Work Elements: The work of this project consists of: 1. Replacement of the existing domestic water heater, including demolition of the existing domestic water heater; installation of a new high-efficiency water heater; reconfiguring the existing domestic water heating system piping; and reconfiguring the existing water heater vent piping. 2. Any and all electrical work required for related work elements above. 3. Demonstration and training for BLM site personnel. II. Project Location A. The Billings Fire Station is located at 1299 Rimtop Drive, Billings, Montana 59105 (LAT 45.805900, LONG -108.521739). A pre-bid site inspection by potential bidders to verify existing conditions at the project site is highly recommended, but not mandatory. III. Water Heater Information Water heater shall be modulating-condensing type suitable for firing with natural gas at high altitude, shall be rated for 160 psig working pressure, and shall be 95 percent thermally efficient, with 100 gallon glass-lined insulated tank, sea level input capacity of 150,000 BTU/hr, and 120VAC, 5A electrical characteristics. Provide the water heater with ASME temperature and pressure relief valve, condensate neutralizer kit (Part No. 100289339), seismic water heater restraint kit (Holdrite QS-120, or approved equal), and grounded power cord with plug. The water heater shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer�s installation instructions and shall be adjusted for proper operation at 3,100� elevation. A.O. Smith BTH-150, by A.O. Smith Corporation, Ashland City, Tennessee 37015, or approved equal. The new water heater shall be installed on the existing concrete equipment pad and shall be anchored to the wall behind the water heater with seismic restraint straps. Submission requirements: Potential sources are invited to submit a Capabilities Statement describing the requests stated above.
